Please contact Library faculty for assistance using these resources.

As the new fiscal year begins, remember all visitors to the Library need to have their own ID badges visibly displayed, including during evenings and weekends. This is a campus requirement, and the badges are necessary for printing and copying.

Please do not ask janitorial staff, or Library staff, for access to the Library through emergency exits. Letting people into unauthorized entrances poses safety and theft risks when those locks are inadvertently left unsecured.

Staff cannot be responsible for theft of personal belongings. Please secure items appropriately.

Thank you for your cooperation in keeping the Library an appropriate environment for study and research.

The Library is pleased to welcome Sarah Jackson, education librarian, and Hannah Sprawls, library associate in technical services.

Ms. Jackson is a recent graduate of LSU School of Library & Information Science, and worked in various roles for Feist-Weiller Cancer Center prior to her appointment to the faculty in the Library. She will provide reference and teach in the curricula of all 3 schools. Ms. Sprawls comes to LSU Health Shreveport from LSU-S Noel Memorial Library. She recently finished the Master of Liberal Arts degree from LSU-S. She will be working to maintain the Library’s growing collection of electronic resources.

In response to faculty and staff requests, the Library is pleased to announce it has been able to add JAMA Oncology to its e-journal titles. Online access is available from April 2015 to the present. JAMA Oncology is an international peer-reviewed journal for scientists, clinicians, and trainees in the field of oncology.

This Saturday, June 8, facilities personnel will be moving metal shelving from the institution's archives room on the Library ground floor, to a room on the first floor of the C building. This move is necessary to make a new, safer home for the institutional archives. We apologize in advance for extra noise.

The Library will be closed on Thursday, July 4. Normal hours will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5. Have a happy and safe holiday!

We are grateful to the Board of Regents for providing grant funding for the Library to license the electronic versions of 9 textbooks. The grant is provided through the statewide academic library consortium, LOUIS: The Louisiana Library Network, as part of its goal to help reduce higher education student expenses for books.

The Library has previously received funding to license 14 other textbooks commonly used on campus. If one student had to purchase all these in print at retail price, these 23 titles would total $1,772 before sales tax.

The most recent titles are:

Foundations of Clinical Research

Introduction to Research: Understanding and applying multiple strategies

Management in Physical Therapy Practices

Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Care

Observational Gait Analysis

Occupational Therapy for Children

Occupational Therapy Interventions

Pedretti’s occupational therapy: Practice skills for physical dysfunction

Respiratory Care Anatomy and Physiology

The Library is closed Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, May 28. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!
