Faster Full Text from the Library with Nomad

Nomad (LibKey Nomad) is an extension for Chrome browsers to reduce the number of clicks to find full-text of articles in PubMed. It is fast and simple to download. Instructions are available here.

When the extension is installed in Chrome, it senses when full-text is available from the Library’s subscriptions, and displays the appropriate buttons. It slightly changes how PubMed results are displayed. Here is an example:

If the Library does not have access to the full-text, a button labeled Access Options appears. This offers the chance to request the article through interlibrary loan. (Fees may apply.)

Right now, Nomad only works with PubMed and selected publisher websites, and is only available for Chrome. It can be used on iPhone, iPad, desktop, and laptop computers. The developer plans to expand Nomad in the future.

Library faculty are excited to provide this time-saving option to the campus. Contact the library with questions.
